Me and Frida
Stalin is all over the place
in Frida Kahlo's
paintings. My mother,
when she saw Stalin everywhere
was real embarrassed for Frida.
Do you think Frida knew
how bad
Stalin was?
How he killed
all those millions from his own country.
I have no right to criticize Stalin.
It's not like I've ever had to kill anyone
yet.
Maybe it's very addictive.
Once you kill one peasant,
you must slaughter a hundred more
to avoid jonesing.
Jonesing is when you need a fix.
I learned about the word
on Beverly Hills 90210.
Who will be more embarrassed
in their grave,
me for putting 90210
in my poetry, or Frida for putting
Stalin in her work?
