Watching MTV while reading The Communist Manifesto
They are both difficult to understand--both
twisty and turning
right, left, all around
Both list important organizations:
Swiss Radicals, Nine-Inch Nails, British Chartists,
10,000 Maniacs, French Social-Democrats, Men at Work
MTV tells me to cast my vote for most desirable male--Marx
and Engels
tell me to cast my vote for them
(and to kill the ruling class)
Who do I listen to?
M.T.V. is everywhere --
Communism has been tried
all over the world.
It doesn't really matter because it's 3:40 A.M.
and I still haven't gone to sleep
and none of this is going to stop my headache
and make me understand
why people
can be so mean.
